We Are What We Eat?

We thought it would be interesting to share with other family members what our daily diets are like. This may help to promote the idea of healthy eating. Let us know if you are on any special diets which are beneficial to you, reduce symptoms of specific maladies, or are just plain healthy, or not.

Are they "rich in ...." or "low in colesterol", "high in fibers", f. ex.? This may become interesting when we see what happens in the different cultures we live in. Let's hear what you have in your diet!

No water during the meals and no coffee after

Meals must always be at very regular times – nervousness and trembling are the consequence if not so.

Dinner

The name dinner is appropriate only for special occasions, when receiving visits or special festivities. Most of the time a sandwich, an omelet, a pizza, a cheese plate, “pão de queijo” (literally cheese bread) or salty biscuits with cheese cream is the meal for the night.

A beer (Carlsberg) or a glass of red wine, or a brandy (Macieira) or a caipirinha (sugar cane distillation with lemon and ice, but no sugar) will accompany the snack meal.

Eating out for dinner about twice a month, preferring fish with white wine in these occasions.

Except for water, nothing is eaten in between meals during the mornings and afternoons. Even the traditional “cafezinho” (small coffee cup) is not accepted.
